Alaska Marine Ferry Aurora

After our few days in Cordova we took the Ferryboat Aurora across Prince William Sound to Valdez. The Sound is mostly calm and the ferry boats are comfortable. We made reservations way in advance, but there were not very many people onboard. Reservations are important if you want to transport a vehicle. Our people were all on foot. The rate for foot passengers is $43, one way. Seniors ride for half price. The voyage is about 5 hours; a nice mini cruise. There was a US Park Service naturalist onboard to answer questions. Unfortunately it was very misty and foggy so we were able to see only close to the boat.
