Most of these photographs were taken onboard the containership PONL Mairangi during May and June 2004. With the permission of the owners and operators, I rode the Mairangi from New Zealand across the South Pacific, past the Galapagos, to the Panama Canal. After passing through the Panama Canal we sailed through the Carribean, around Cuba and Florida, to Savannah, Georgia. During the crossing of the Pacific I collected temperature and salinity data for Scripps Institution of Oceanography. These data will be used in the study of global climate change.
